
About Karin
Visionary Leader and Founder of Blue Jean Educational Consulting
with over 30 Years of Transforming Education
Karin is the founder and executive director of BLUE Jean Educational Consulting. With over 30 years in public education, she has a reputation for being a visionary leader with a passion for transforming education to create engaging and relevant learning opportunities for students, teachers, and leaders.
​
Karin started her career as a classroom teacher teaching grades 5, 6, and ESL. However, most of her career has been in educational leadership, where she has served as an assistant principal, principal, executive director, area superintendent, and superintendent. In addition to her years of service in various school districts, Karin has also held executive leadership positions within a regional education service center and served as an adjunct university professor in the field of educational leadership.

Leading in various educational roles has allowed Karin to experience opportunities ranging from school and district turnaround to facility planning and construction. However, her areas of interest and strength are curriculum and instruction, leadership development, and organizational improvement and planning. Karin holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a doctoral degree from the University of North Texas.

As a creative thinker with a servant's heart, Karin is passionate about coaching and supporting campus and district leaders, helping them achieve their goals and making educational transformation a reality for their students, teachers, and community.

Karin has been married to her husband, Jim, for 29 years. They have three wonderful sons, two special daughters-in-law, and three perfect grandbabies. Karin loves dogs, movies, traveling, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite sport is soccer, and she is currently learning to play golf.
